Band Biography

Telegraphs formed in Brighton in late 2005.  The five individuals that exist as the elements and bones of Telegraphs gravitated towards the bipolar seaside town after escaping from typical, small town upbringings.  Frontman Darcy Harrison found his melodies perfectly complemented by guitarist Darren LeWarne's systematic and always deeply harmonious approach to playing.  Hattie Williams' ghostly harmonies and fire laden bass lines quickly carved out their place, and drummer Sam Bacon's explosive percussive attack laid the foundations upon which the band would be built.  Telegraphs moved through several incarnations, but have now been completed by second guitarist James Shaw.

The summer release of 'Across a Wire' EP sparked a wave of interest which has continued to ripple - 'So Cold' received single of the week from two London independent radio stations, and 'No Friends No Enemies' made it to number 4 in the Kerrang! 'Ten Songs You Should Hear Now' playlist.  Producer Paul Tipler (Idlewild, Forward Russia!) worked with the band on the follow up, self-released single 'This Is The Message' which dropped in November 2007.  Support from Radio 1, XFM and Kerrang! Radio was received and the band found themselves hotly tipped by Rocksound magazine as a band to watch in 2008.

Telegraphs will be back in the studio with Dave Eringa in June to record their debut album.
